Happy Birthday, Mom!

Mom just went home Wednesday after spending 5 1/2 weeks with us here in California. That sounds like a long time, but it flew by! We had so much fun together. (Mom and the girls had more fun, but I joined in when I wasn't busy with school.)

She was stay-at-home Gramma, on call the whole day. Elysse had so much fun with her Gramma and dearly misses her. This morning, as soon as she woke up she asked, "When is Gramma coming?"

Mom saw Chanelle through a busy time - before we left she was hardly eating or getting around, and now she is doing both to the extreme! She also wasn't taking a bottle when we got here, but Mom survived that, too. And she taught Chanelle how to wave bye-bye, which all you parents know is very exciting!

Mom and I had one chance to go out just the two of us the day before she left, because Dave was here to stay with the girls. We went shopping for a bit and then went to see Fiddler on the Roof at the Pantages Theatre. Though we were both a little tired, we had such a great time and really enjoyed seeing Topol in his farewell tour as Tevye. What a great show!

We sure miss you, Mom! We wish we could be with you today to celebrate your birthday, but we're thinking of you from here. We love you so much. Happy Birthday!

And you'll have this to add to your collection on the fridge when we get back. Goofy was her choice, Mom! I think it went something like this... "I have a good idea! How about I colour GOOFY for Gramma?!"

We don't know how to thank you for everything except to say,

Thanks, Mom.
