Do you have one of these??

I LOVE my pineapple corer/slicer/peeler, which was a birthday gift from my friend Natalie. Not that we have pineapples all that often, but boy, does this make life easier when we do! I always used to ask Dave to cut the pineapple, but I don't think I'll be doing that anymore! I'm sure these would be available at any kitchen supply store.

On the same note, Dave got me one of these a long time ago, and it's still one of my favourite kitchen gadgets, as we make a lot of apple crisps.

I think it's about $30 from Lee Valley, and worth every penny. Elysse loves turning the handle once I put the apple on - a good way to involve her in "making" (as she would say).

So if you get as excited about kitchen stuff as I do, maybe these would be good Mother's Day requests! Which kitchen gadget shall I ask for for Mother's Day - any ideas?

I've never even seen either of those, they look sweet! If only I had unlimited cupboard space for kitchen gadgets!

Ok, I don't have the pineapple corer, but I want one now. I do have the apple peeler/corer/slicer and I love it. Comes in very handy for making homemade applesauce.

As for Mother's Day requests: do you have a microplane rasp grater? I just got one and it is fabulous. Williams-Sonoma has a pizza crisper that is a must-have if you make homemade pizza regularly. It is probably among the best $20 I have ever spent. Also, their Breville Panini Press is awesome if you don't have one.

We've used the apple peeler & love it!!! Now I've got the pineapple corer on my wish list ;) I must say I love my mandoline. I use it all the time - especially for homemade sweet potato fries!

I LOVE kitchen gadgets and have had to make an 'overflow' rubbermaid container in my pantry. One of my favorites is still the mini ice cream scoop - perfect for scooping cookie dough, meatballs, and mini-muffins.

(I looked around a bit and finally found the pinapple corer at Home Outfitters. Glad you love it! )
